Finally both girls broke away from the chase. They ran into a tunnel that led over the wall. But when they made even a few steps forward a tall man in a blue mantle stepped in their way.

“You shall not pass!” he said, raising a wand.

“Whoops!” both girls yelped in unison. Suddenly elven knights appeared from behind. Vampiress dropped the book.

“What do we have here?” the wizard asked “Two creatures of the night are walking around in broad daylight in Rûannedh! And if this is not enough, they also just robbed the royal library!” he shook his head “What a tohubohu!” he looked closely at the vampiress “Wait a minute! Athanasia Elisabeth Morrisville, more known as Dame Athanasia! It's a perfect scandal! A noble woman caught as a knight of the road!” he smacked his lips and turned to the she-werewolf “And what is this? An animal, who’s arrogant enough to think it can be called a sentient being? Or a woman, who’s wild enough to become an unreasonable animal? Do you have a name, beast?”

“It’s Livonna Grau…” she-werewolf replied, but when she opened her mouth again, the wizard interrupted her before she could say anything more and nodded to the knights.

“Enough! Bring these two bandits to her royal highness! She’ll pass judgment!”
