In the Balkan micronation of Zaranovia, it has been tradition for close to 500 years that disciplinary matters are dealt with on the capital's public stockade. Every week, each of the young women of the nation - dressed in penitential robes - confess the sins they committed in the past 7 days in front of an audience, after which they are subjected to strict corporal punishment by a state-appointed Disciplinarian - usually spanking, caning, paddling or whatever the Disciplinarian comes up with that week. After they've been thorougly chastised, they are then put in traditional cloth diapers as a physical representation of their humiliation and humbling, usually combined with an accessory that fit the crime they committed - like chastity belts for chronic masturbators or plastic pants for incorrigible bedwetters.

For this very reason, Zaranovia has not been accepted in the European Union at the moment of typing.
